All information you could ever want about Rush is available at The National Midnight Star Home Page, run (and kept running) by the wonderful rugh-mgr's...
While I'm assuming most anyone who might come here knows who/what Rush is (no, it's not the political humorist, sorry...), I'll drop a brief description. Rush is a rock band from Toronto, Canada. Their first album, 'RUSH' was released in August 1974, two months before I was born. They are still together, still touring, and still making albums, their newest, 'Test For Echo', was released in September 1996, and sounds great! After 20 Gold albums, they are still going on strong.
I caught my first Rush concert during my freshman year in college, on April 8, 1994 (the same night Kurt Cobain killed himself) at the Target Center in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I'll be going again on October 29, 1996 to see them at the Target Center, this time with Gold Circle seats, so we'll be a little closer in...
(Note: Beware Ticketmaster's "Gold Circle" seats. We paid a fairly heavy premium, and ended up with a nice view of the speakers hanging from the ceiling. Couldn't even see Geddy. I highly recommend ticket brokers. You still pay the premium, but you get to choose your seats, rather than trust Ticketmaster to give you their "best available".)
Stats for the April 8, 1994 Rush Show (from TNMS 1859): Rush Primus Target Center Minneapolis, Minn. April 8, 1994 GROSS SALES $307,600 ATTENDANCE / CAPACITY / SHOWS / SELLOUTS / TICKET PRICES 12,772 12,772 1 1 $29.50 $22.50 ** SELLOUT **
I've got all the albums as CD's (including the 3 Gold Discs), The Story of Kings (Interview), Victor, and the newish tribute album 'Working Man'. I've got almost all the albums on vinyl (hey, who can pass up the great album art?) I'm looking for Test For Echo on vinyl still... I've also got Chronicles and A Show of Hands on video. I'm interested in getting good copies of Exit... Stage Left and The Camera Eye (the local video store won't sell their copy...)
